Doutron ("we," "our," or "us") operates the Sip mobile application (the "App") for Android and Wear OS. This Privacy Policy explains our practices regarding information collection, use, and disclosure when you use our App.

        Our Privacy Commitment: Sip is designed to operate completely locally on your device. We do not collect, store, or transmit your personal data to any external servers.
    

1. Information Collection and Use

Personal Data

Sip does not collect any directly identifying personal information, such as your name, email address, phone number, or account credentials. The App does not require or support user accounts.

Local Application Data

To provide the core features of the App, the following information is stored securely and exclusively on your local device:

Water-intake logs and history
Daily hydration goals
Reminder schedules and preferences

This data remains on your physical device and is never uploaded to servers controlled by Doutron.

2. Device Permissions and Integrations

Sip requests specific device permissions to function. These features are processed entirely on-device:

Notifications & Exact Alarms: Used solely to deliver your hydration reminders at your chosen times.
Boot Completion: Used to automatically restore your scheduled reminder timers if your device reboots.
Vibration: Used to provide haptic feedback for notifications.
Wear OS Data Layer: Synchronizes your daily hydration totals, goals, and drink sizes between your phone and your paired Wear OS smartwatch via Google Play Services. This synchronization happens locally between your devices.
Document Picker: Used only when you explicitly choose to export a backup file or restore previous data. You select your preferred local or cloud storage provider (e.g., Google Drive); Sip does not see or control where this file is saved.

Android Health Connect (Optional)

If you voluntarily grant permission, Sip can write hydration records directly to Android Health Connect to sync with your other fitness apps.

Write-Only: Sip requests write-only permissions for hydration data.
No Reading: Sip does not read, access, or import any data stored in Health Connect by other applications.
You can revoke this permission at any time through your Android system settings.

3. Third-Party Services and Analytics

We believe in a clean user experience. Sip contains:

NO third-party tracking or marketing SDKs.
NO analytics software (e.g., Firebase Analytics or Google Analytics).
NO crash reporting packages (e.g., Crashlytics or Sentry).
NO advertisements or advertising identifiers (GAID).

Google Play Store Processing

Sip is distributed as a paid app ($0.99) via the Google Play Store. When you purchase, download, or update the App, Google Play independently processes payment processing, licensing checks, platform device metrics, and system crash logs under Google's own Privacy Policy. Doutron does not receive your payment card details or banking information.

4. Data Deletion and Retention

Because all your data is stored locally on your device, Doutron cannot access, look up, or delete your data for you.

How to delete your data: You can instantly delete all data, logs, and preferences by clearing the App's storage cache in your Android system settings or by completely uninstalling the App from your device.
Any backups you manually exported must be deleted by you from your chosen document provider.

5. Regional Privacy Disclosures (GDPR / CCPA)

European Union & United Kingdom (GDPR / UK GDPR)

The legal basis for processing your data is the performance of the service you explicitly request (operating the local hydration tracker) and your explicit consent where applicable (such as enabling Health Connect).

Because we do not collect or hold your data on remote servers, we cannot fulfill standard data access, portability, or deletion requests—we simply do not have your data. You hold total control over your data portability and deletion rights locally by managing the App on your phone.

California Residents (CCPA/CPRA)

Sip does not sell, share, or rent your personal information to third parties, nor do we use your data for cross-context behavioral advertising.

6. Children's Privacy

Sip is intended for a general audience aged 13 and older. It is not designed for, directed toward, or marketed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
